Suunto visual design
I worked as an external visual designer for Suunto in 2022-24 and what a ride it was! Suunto carefully chooses its partners and athletes – only the best will do. That's why I also had to be able to perform at my best as Suunto's visual ambassador.
Client need
Visual design support to create world-class sport watch graphics

My job was to make sure that Suunto is recognisably repeated on every platform. It was also important to design the materials so that they adapt to different formats. This was especially important in Google/Amazon advertising, but also in social media.

At Taiste, we made Suunto.com more responsive, easier to understand and more inspiring through both storytelling and visual solutions. Most of the time my job was to support the suunto.com team, for example in creating image assets, but sometimes I also got to come up with layout ideas.

Image template I created for Suunto's social media channels. These sometimes also contained a bit of animation too.

As a Visual Designer, I had to be prepared for a wide variety of tasks. They could be illustrations, UI/UX design, marketing images, animations, logo & icon design, print product design, etc. Whatever visual Suunto needed!

I was able to use my creativity the most when designing the layout of the Suunto 9 Family page at Suunto.com. At this case the desktop and mobile had to be designed completely differently.

Designing the "point of interest" icons for Suunto watches was really interesting and fun. The icons had to be tested a lot, as they only appeared on the watch at a minimum size of 24 pixels (48 pixel options in the image). The subject of this icon was a wreck.
I like to think that working with Suunto helped elevate my visual design skills from a national to an international level.
